I am extremely disappointed with my experience at Mr. Tire and even more disappointed with how they handled the situation afterward. I originally took my vehicle to Mr. Tire because my tires were wearing bald prematurely. I am not a mechanic, so I specifically asked them to inspect the vehicle, identify the cause of the problem, and replace anything that needed to be replaced. I trusted their expertise and was willing to pay for whatever repairs were necessary to properly resolve the issue. During my first visit, I paid Mr. Tire for an alignment and repairs they recommended. Unfortunately, the problem was not resolved. After only about 5,000 miles, tires that were rated for approximately 75,000 miles were worn out again. I brought the vehicle back to Mr. Tire and explained that I was still experiencing the same problem. During the second visit, they replaced another component they believed was causing the issue and used my road hazard coverage to replace the tires. I trusted that the problem had finally been addressed. Unfortunately, after another approximately 5,000 miles, the replacement tires were bald again. I returned to Mr. Tire for a third time. At that point, I was told it would cost approximately $1,600 to fix the problem I had originally brought the vehicle in to have diagnosed and repaired. After already paying for repairs twice and having the exact same problem continue to destroy my tires, I no longer felt comfortable continuing to spend money with Mr. Tire without getting a second opinion. I took the vehicle to another mechanic less than 100 miles later. Their inspection found multiple significant problems, including bad tie rod ends, suspension problems, and a bad ball joint. These issues had not been properly identified or resolved during my previous visits to Mr. Tire. I ultimately paid the other mechanic $2,667.55 for the necessary repairs, tires, alignment, and associated work. I had already paid Mr. Tire for an alignment and repairs that did not resolve the issue, so I essentially had to pay for some of the same work again. The continued problem also caused excessive wear to the tires to the point is has to buy new ones that had been installed during my second visit. This situation cost me much more than the repair bill. I had to take four days off work while dealing with the repeated visits to Mr. Tire and the subsequent repairs, resulting in approximately $800 in lost wages. I contacted Mr. Tire and requested reimbursement for the expenses I believe resulted from the failure to properly diagnose and resolve the problem. I requested reimbursement for the replacement tires, the additional alignment, associated shop fees, and the parts that had been replaced by Mr. Tire but did not resolve the issue. Mr. Tire refused to reimburse me for anything. That is probably the most frustrating part of this entire experience. I understand that automotive problems can sometimes be difficult to diagnose, and I don't expect a repair shop to be perfect. However, I gave Mr. Tire multiple opportunities to identify and correct the problem. I specifically told them to inspect the vehicle and fix whatever was necessary because I rely on automotive professionals to tell me what my vehicle needs. Instead, I paid for repairs, the problem continued, my tires repeatedly wore out, and another mechanic was able to identify multiple significant issues less than 100 miles after my final visit to Mr. Tire. I am extremely disappointed with the amount of money, time, and inconvenience this situation has cost me, but I am even more disappointed that after explaining everything to Mr. Tire and requesting reimbursement for the expenses I incurred, they refused to reimburse me anything. Ultimately If you want knowledgeable, and honest service, I would highly encourage going somewhere else. Owners response is garbage. Prompts don't work and they don't want to reconsider as i was just told they won't do anything.....Read More
