My fianc?e and I have been loyal customers of MR Tire in Union for the past two years. During that time, we've spent well over $5,000 here on tires, alignments, and other services. Most recently, I purchased a full set of four tires for my fianc?e's vehicle and had my own car aligned?nearly $3,000 in work alone. To be fair, the mechanic who actually performs the work does an excellent job. I have no complaints about the quality of the repairs or installations. Unfortunately, that's where the positive experience ends. The customer service at this location is among the worst I've ever experienced. About 9 out of 10 times I walk in, there is nobody at the front desk. It's completely normal to stand there waiting anywhere from 10 to 30 minutes just to speak with someone. It's also impossible to trust the time estimates they give. On one occasion, I was told an alignment would take 1?2 hours. I ended up sitting in the waiting room for 4? hours before my vehicle was finally finished, with no proactive updates or explanation for the delay. If you're going to run behind, the least you can do is communicate with your customers instead of leaving them wondering what's going on. On top of that, one of the front desk employees is consistently rude, dismissive, and incredibly unhelpful. Every interaction feels like you're inconveniencing him simply by asking him to do his job. The final straw happened after my recent alignment. The very next day my TPMS warning light came on. No problem?I called to schedule an appointment. That alone was frustrating because MR Tire uses what has to be one of the worst phone answering services imaginable. Getting in touch with anyone is nearly impossible, and when you do, you're left wondering if the message ever reaches the store. I dropped my car off the next morning, handed over my key, and was told I'd receive a call when it was ready. That call never came. I tried calling the store multiple times throughout the day, but as usual, no one answered. When I arrived later in the afternoon, the shop was already closed. Thankfully I had my spare key because I found my car sitting exactly where I had left it?it hadn't moved an inch. No one had even looked at it. They had completely forgotten about my vehicle. As a result, I had to take time off work the next morning just to bring it back. The aforementioned employee greeted me with more attitude and talked to me like I was the problem. Then, after all of that, I still sat there for three more hours waiting for what should have been a straightforward TPMS diagnosis and repair. It's honestly disappointing because the mechanic deserves better. His quality of work is the only reason this place has received any of my business over the last two years. But great mechanical work cannot make up for consistently terrible customer service, poor communication, and complete disrespect for customers' time. After this experience, MR Tire has officially lost my business. There are too many shops out there that can provide quality work and treat customers with basic professionalism and respect. So happy to find someplace open on Sunday when I turned up with a flat! Xavier was super friendly and efficient. The cost was right and the guys in the back Marvin and Cash fixed my really bad flat. Would definitely Mr. Tire on Morris Ave in Union, NJ.
